Our Veterinary Specialty Services

1

TPLO

TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy)

This surgical option treats cranial (anterior) cruciate ligament ruptures in the knee.

This technique removes the torn ends of the ligament and changes the structure of the knee joint by making a circular cut around the top of the tibia.

This changes the mechanics of the knee to provide long-term comfort and mobility.

2

Lateral Suture

This surgical option also treats cranial (anterior) cruciate ligament ruptures.

This technique places sutures in the knee to mimic the function of the ruptured ligament.

We will discuss which option will be best for your pet, based on exam findings.

3

FHO

FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy)

This surgical option is done to alleviate chronic pain due to dysplasia or laxity in the hip.

This involves removing the femoral head (ball) to reduce pain.

A false joint then forms redirecting force to the pelvis instead of the leg.

4

MPL

Medial Patellar Luxation

This surgical option provides a reconstruction of the tissues and/or bone surrounding the patella to provide long-term stability of the knee.

5

Fracture Repair

The surgical options for fracture repair are based on the type of fracture your pet has, incomplete vs complete.

Also, if the fracture is open or closed will play a factor in what type of repair is chosen.

We will discuss the best surgical options based on exam findings.

6

Amputation

This surgical option is most common for the removal of a limb that is not functional or chronically painful.

This can be due to cancer, severe trauma, or a birth defect.

7

Perineal Urethrostomy

"PU"

This surgical option provides cats with chronic urinary obstructions a surgical alternative that can help them urinate easier and reduces the risk of them ever having a urinary blockage again.

We will work with you on post-op care and planning of rechecks.

8

Perineal Hernia Repair

A surgical repair option for dogs with a hernia in their perineal region.

Our surgeon will repair the hernia by placing a mesh that will provide support going forward.

9

Mass Removal

Complex masses can be cancerous, or cause mobility issues. Mass removal can be a key therapy in preventing spread of disease or infection.

When we remove masses, we typically plan this during our consults, and work with you on this plan. A plan can include needing to send the mass off for diagnostics like histopathology, and also care for the incision site post-op.
